Marshall County Busted Mugshots Explained
A busted mugshot starts life at a jail. Someone gets arrested, an agency brings them in, and intake paperwork follows. Marshall County splits these duties among several offices. The sheriff handles countywide enforcement and court duties. Benton and Calvert City each list their own police contacts, and an elected jailer runs the Marshall County Detention Center. So the agency that made the arrest may not be the office holding the booking record.
Ask the detention center first. It is the natural place to learn whether someone arrested locally was booked there. Still, not every arrest ends at that facility. A person can be cited and released, transferred, held on an outside warrant, or moved into state or federal custody before anyone checks. Apply labels like in custody, released, just booked, sentenced state, sentenced federal, or status not verified only when the source backs them.
There is no public roster, booking-photo search, same-day feed, photo policy, update schedule, or photo-retention rule from the detention center that has been verified. Kentucky open-records law gives anyone a way to request records that exist. It does not force a county to maintain a face gallery.
What a Marshall County Booking Record Shows
The detention center has published no online field schema. That gap matters. The list below splits two things apart. It shows which fields local reports and request practice support, and which remain unverified online.
| Field | What it shows and how to label it |
|---|---|
| Name | Use the source spelling and date; do not imply conviction. |
| Arrest or booking date | Distinguish “arrest reported on” from a jail-confirmed admission time. |
| Arresting agency | Preserve sheriff, Benton Police, Calvert City Police, KSP, or other jurisdiction exactly. |
| Alleged charge | Use “charged with” or “accused of.” Charges may be amended or dismissed. |
| Booking number | No public MCDC format was verified; request it if the record contains one. |
| Bond | No official county schedule was found. Confirm a case-specific amount with the jail or clerk. |
| Release or transfer | State it only from a current official response or custody service. |
| Photograph | No public MCDC display or release policy was verified. Ask for it separately. |
| Court disposition | The court file, not the booking record, establishes the outcome. |
| Hold or detainer | No public MCDC field was found. Never infer federal or immigration custody from a story. |
Useful record terms
A few terms carry weight here. Booking means jail intake. Arraignment is an early court appearance. Bond covers the terms of release. Disposition records how a case ended. Expungement is a legal process that can seal or remove qualifying records under Kentucky law.
Request Marshall County Busted Mugshots
Want a booking record or a photograph? A narrow Kentucky Open Records Act request is your best bet. The county Open Records page explains the general process, and the current OAG-01 form does too. The detention center also posts a contact for record-specific questions.
- Identify one person, an approximate admission or arrest date, and the arresting agency. Ask whether MCDC is the custodian.
- Request the booking record and booking photograph as separate items. Ask for electronic delivery if available.
- Send a detention request to roger.ford@marshallcountyky.gov or call 270-527-4760. The facility is at 54 Judicial Drive, Benton, KY 42025.
- If useful, send the county form to openrecordsrequest@marshallcountyky.gov, mail or deliver it to 1101 Main Street, Benton, KY 42025, or fax 270-527-4795.
- Ask for the fee and expected delivery date. If material is withheld, request the specific statutory exception and any nonexempt portion.
KRS 61.880 sets a deadline. An agency must decide within five business days, skipping weekends and legal holidays. If records are not on hand right away, the agency can send a written explanation instead. MCDC has posted no fee, delivery format, or image turnaround time. Treat any promise of those as guesswork.
A strong request asks for more. Include the photo policy, the retention schedule, the database name, field definitions, and transfer details. The agency hands over records that exist. It has no duty to build a new roster or produce an analysis.
Kentucky Law for Busted Mugshots
KRS 61.872 opens the door to public records, subject to statutory exceptions. KRS 61.880 governs how agencies must respond. Availability always depends on the specific record. A missing online roster does not mean no booking record exists. Public-record status also does not oblige anyone to keep a photograph posted forever.
The statute offers a circuit-court remedy. Courts may award costs, attorney fees, and discretionary daily damages that climb across successive 30-day periods. Facing a payment demand? Save the URL, the date, a screen capture, the demand itself, and the stated source, then talk to Kentucky counsel. No paid-removal service is named or linked here.
Juvenile records sit behind a different wall. KRS 610.320 and KRS 610.340 generally restrict juvenile law-enforcement and court records, with only narrow exceptions. The adult booking instructions on this page never apply to a minor. No juvenile face gallery should ever be built.
Correcting or Removing a Busted Record
Four separate paths exist: correction, expungement, a change on the source page, and a search-index refresh. None promises that every copy will vanish. Each one does have a proper official route, though.
- Ask the originating agency whether the record exists and request a correction if an agency field is wrong.
- Use Kentucky Courts expungement guidance and official forms to determine whether the case qualifies. File through the Circuit Court Clerk in the original county when required.
- Send a certified order or agency correction to each office or publisher that actually holds or displays the item.
- After a source page changes, use Google or Bing outdated-content tools to request an index refresh. A search-result change does not delete the source record.
Kentucky Courts outlines a certification step plus several petition routes. Some qualifying dismissals with prejudice, and acquittals on or after July 15, 2020, get automatic treatment after 30 days unless someone objects. Eligibility depends on the case. The official court or counsel has the final word.
No verified Marshall County page appears on the major commercial mugshot aggregators. So no county-specific opt-out can be promised. Skip any intermediary who guarantees deletion or claims to hide the source. Keep your evidence. Work through official agency, court, publisher, search-engine, and Attorney General channels instead.
Old Marshall County Busted Mugshots
Old records follow old rules. The Kentucky County/Local Jailer Records Retention Schedule lists a jail-register series kept five years after release. That rule covers the register itself. It does not automatically cover a digital booking photograph. MCDC has announced no photo-specific retention period or confirmed any archive transfer.
For an older case, ask MCDC whether the register or image still exists. Then ask the county custodian for the governing schedule and any transfer record. Contact the Kentucky Department for Libraries and Archives only after you can name a record series, date range, case number, or county transfer. KDLA's historical court-request route may locate a court file, but it does not promise a mugshot.
Keep the pieces straight. A jail register logs administrative intake. An arrest report belongs to the investigating agency. A court file shows the case, and a booking image stands on its own.
Find Marshall County Busted Mugshots
With no verified live roster or booking feed available, take an incident-specific approach. Start with official custody. End with the court result.
- Confirm Marshall County, Kentucky, not a same-named county in another state.
- Identify the arresting agency from a direct source or dated article. Call MCDC at 270-527-4760 to ask whether the person is just booked or in custody.
- If no public result exists, request the booking record and photo separately from the detention-center custodian.
- For a multi-day lead, check Marshall County Daily’s Police Blotter and West Kentucky Star, then return to the jail for present status.
- For a sentenced state person, use Kentucky KOOL. For federal or immigration custody, use BOP or ICE as appropriate.
- Use the Marshall Circuit or District Clerk for the case and disposition.
Question: Why might a name vanish from custody results? Answer: Release, transfer, or a move into another custody system are the usual reasons. Absence does not erase the booking record or establish a court outcome.
Where Marshall County Mugshots Appear
Each channel covers a different custody stage. Official sources come first, while local news is a secondary discovery tool and commercial pages are neither verified nor recommended.
| Channel | Photo? | Official? | Use |
|---|---|---|---|
| Marshall County Detention Center | Policy not published | Yes | Current local custody and record-request routing |
| Arresting agency | Request-specific | Yes | Agency arrest report or maintained image |
| Marshall County Court | Not a mugshot source | Yes | Case filings and disposition |
| Kentucky KOOL | Some state offender records | Yes | Sentenced state or supervised status |
| Kentucky VINE | No | Yes | Custody and release notification |
| Marshall County Daily / WCBL | Often logo, feature, or incident image | No | Irregular multi-day arrest reporting |
| West Kentucky Star | Incident or agency image | No | Regional event discovery |
| Commercial aggregators | Unverified | No | No verified Marshall County, Kentucky local section found |
Search carefully. Other states have their own Marshall Counties, and Kentucky neighbors clutter the results. Sometimes the arresting agency differs from the jail where the booking happened. Skip face-search tools and copied galleries. A photo that repeats across sites is not evidence that anyone is still in custody.
Marshall County Busted Roster Status
The Marshall County Detention Center page is the county's own hub for custody information. Make it your first stop. No public roster or bookings list is posted there right now. That simply means no verified roster exists online. It does not mean Marshall County keeps no jail records.
| Search item | Marshall County status |
|---|---|
| Name search | No public official interface verified |
| Booking or release date | No public field verified |
| Charges and bond | No public schema verified |
| Booking photo | No display or policy verified |
| Update cadence | Not published |
| Release persistence | Not published |
A phone call works best. Dial 270-527-4760, give the person's name and an approximate date, and ask whether MCDC holds the booking record. Written requests can go to roger.ford@marshallcountyky.gov. Keep the request narrow and specific. Search forms you find on Alabama or Indiana Marshall County sites belong to those jurisdictions, so don't import them here.
Note: The jail visitation ban on cameras governs visitors and does not establish whether a booking photograph is a public record.
Recent Busted Bookings and Feeds
Marshall County has no same-day official booking feed. Someone just got arrested? Call MCDC with the name, the rough time, and the arresting agency. Ask whether the person is newly booked, still held, released, or transferred. Photos may not exist at all. They rarely appear within hours.
For multi-day searching, the Marshall County Daily Police Blotter is the most useful source around. Entries cover one incident, several dates, or a whole month. They can include the name, date, age, location, agency, alleged charge, warrant, and booking jail. The format and schedule stay irregular. West Kentucky Star leans toward breaking incidents across the region, so treat it as news rather than a county archive.
The county's own RSS, Notify Me, and iCalendar tools push website and calendar updates, not booking rows. Sign up through the Marshall County RSS subscription page.

Alerts for Marshall County Custody
The Sheriff's Office offers no verified mobile app, booking-alert product, or stable social link in the county navigation. Calvert City's CodeRED system sends city emergency alerts only. Notify Me, RSS, and iCalendar carry Sheriff and Detention Center calendar items, but none of them is a custody feed.
For real custody notification, Kentucky VINE is the stronger option. It covers local jails and adult correctional facilities statewide. You can register anonymously with a phone number and a PIN, online or at 1-800-511-1670. VINE shows no mugshots.
One caveat deserves mention. The state reported that VINE went down February 3 and 4, 2026 after a vendor problem caused false release alerts, returning February 6. Verify anything important directly with the jail. Social posts and alerts can be delayed or edited, so never treat one as sole proof of custody.
Kentucky DOC Busted Photo Search
Kentucky Offender Online Lookup, known as KOOL, is the state's official search for sentenced and supervised people. It is not a Marshall County booking roster. A result shows the name, current location, PID or DOC number, and offense counts. A small camera icon means a photo is attached.
You can search by name or alias, switch on "photos only," or filter by DOC number, PID, supervision, location, county, offense, conviction, demographics, and dates. The state updates the data four times daily. Photos may lag several days behind in-processing and are refreshed at least yearly or after a major appearance change. Only the last ten convictions appear. The Kentucky DOC KOOL guidance explains the details.

After a Marshall County Booking
Court questions start with the Marshall County Court of Justice page. The Judicial Building sits at 80 Judicial Drive, Unit 101, Benton, KY 42025. Circuit Court answers at 270-527-3883. District Court answers at 270-527-1721. The circuit clerk keeps the county case file. CourtNet covers case information across the state.
A jail record tells you whether someone was admitted or is still held. A court record shows whether a case was filed, dismissed, pleaded out, or taken to judgment. Each record answers its own question. Neither substitutes for the other.
| Status | Best source |
|---|---|
| Just booked or in custody | MCDC direct confirmation |
| Released or transferred | MCDC or current VINE result |
| Case filed or disposition | Marshall Circuit or District Clerk |
| Sentenced state | KOOL |
| Sentenced federal | BOP locator |
Question: Does a dismissal automatically remove a news story or search result? Answer: No. Get the official disposition first. Then follow any expungement route you qualify for, contact the publisher, and ask for a search-index refresh once the source changes.
Federal Holds and Busted Records
The federal Bureau of Prisons locator covers inmates held from 1982 forward. It posts no mugshot gallery. A "Released" or "Not in BOP Custody" result still leaves room for local, state, immigration, or supervised status. ICE's locator handles current ICE custody and some recent CBP custody. It demands exact identifying details and blocks searches for minors. It shows no faces either.
The U.S. Marshals Service does not routinely release individual prisoner photos. A local jail can hold someone on federal pretrial status. Confirm that with MCDC rather than guessing from an image.
Reporting in 2025 described a 287(g) Task Force agreement involving the Marshall County Sheriff. That alone does not establish an ICE detention contract at MCDC or any public immigration photo feed. Ask MCDC about local custody or a detainer. Then check ICE, BOP, or USMS for the matching federal answer.
Marshall County Busted Search Traps
Searching a Marshall County roster invites mix-ups. Sheriff sites in Alabama and Indiana can look official. Yet they may describe people with no tie to Kentucky. Names, fields, and photo rules from those pages do not belong here.
The secondary landscape was checked across Busted Newspaper, RecentlyBooked, Mugshots.com, Arrests.org, and Mugshots.zone. None carried a verified county-local section for Marshall County, Kentucky. Some listings pointed at other states entirely. One Benton tag even blended an arresting agency with a booking made in a neighboring county. These commercial outlets stay unofficial, and they can be incomplete or stale. No links point to them here. RecentlyBooked does publish a sitewide free correction policy. Still, with no verified Kentucky Marshall page, there is nothing local to promise.
Before trusting any result, check a few things. Look at the domain, the state, and the facility address. Check the source agency and the publication date too. Keep the arresting agency and the booking location separate. Skip commercial face searches. Never reproduce a gallery, and never read custody into a repeated photo.
Kentucky's weekly jail statistics add one more trap. Those are aggregate facility populations. They carry no names, no booking numbers, no images. A headcount cannot show that a given person was held on the report date.
Marshall County Busted Mugshots by City
The city routes here mirror real local systems rather than repeat keyword pages. An arrest inside a city may still land someone at MCDC, so confirm both the arresting agency and the booking destination for the incident.
- Benton Busted Mugshots: Benton Police publishes criminal-report instructions; Benton is also home to the sheriff, detention center, and courts.
- Calvert City Busted Mugshots: Calvert City Police works around the clock and offers an incident-report purchase route, but no public booking-photo roster.
- Hardin Busted Mugshots: no standalone Hardin Police records page was verified, so identify the sheriff or actual arresting agency and use the city clerk only for city-held records.
Three incorporated places come from the 2020 Census city map. They are Benton, Calvert City, and Hardin. Their population figures are not arrest statistics, and the county E-911 communication totals are not booking counts. No annual Marshall County booking total was verified. So none appears here.
Juvenile Marshall County Records
Marshall County's verified sources expose no public juvenile booking-photo roster. KRS 610.320 and KRS 610.340 generally keep juvenile law-enforcement and court records confidential. Narrow statutory exceptions exist. Treat this as a legal boundary, not a missing search feature.
Never apply the adult detention request to a minor. Do not identify a child from an arrest rumor. Do not piece together images from social and news posts. The responsible agency, the court, and counsel decide whether a specific record can be accessed. No public site should ever build a minor-arrest gallery.
VINE Release Alert Reliability
Kentucky VINE is a notification tool, not a mugshot source. That distinction matters. It matters once a person has left a live roster, or when release status means more than an old booking image. Register through the official state route, then confirm any critical alert with MCDC.
A February 2026 state service notice shows why timestamps matter. Vendor-caused false release alerts hit on February 3 and 4. The service was reported back online February 6. That dated incident does not undo a current result. But it supports checking with the jail before acting on a notification.
